How much does TitlePLUS title insurance cost and who pays for it?
The home buyer/borrower pays for the TitlePLUS policy. The premium is paid only once, when purchasing the property. However, the policy continues to cover the lender, home buyers (if there is a purchase policy), their spouse and heirs as long as any of these parties has an interest in the property.1 For current pricing information in Ontario, please refer to the
Web-Based Policy Pricing sheet ( Only subscribers who use the automated TitlePLUS in-office software or Web-based delivery systems will be able to pass along the lower, published premiums to their clients. Non-subscribing lawyers can obtain TitlePLUS policies by phone, fax or e-mail, however, the premiums are slightly higher. These premiums apply regardless if the property is on municipal or private water/septic systems and/or the property is a condominium,
freehold home, cottage, multi-unit dwelling, or registered with New Home Program on titleplus.lawyerdonedeal.com.2
