What is "legal services coverage"?
TitlePLUS title insurance covers any error or omission on the part of the lawyer handling the transaction for which liability is imposed by law*. So if the lawyer overlooks something, or makes an error while handling the mortgage or purchase transaction, the buyer or lender can seek immediate compensation from LAWPRO, without having to sue the lawyer for compensation. TitlePLUS specifically covers failure to register documents or remove encumbrances and improper adjustment of any items on closing. A borrower or lender cannot be worse off by obtaining TitlePLUS coverage than he or she would be by obtaining a traditional lawyer's opinion on title (and in fact, is much better off).
