For Real Estate Professionals
Where can my clients get TitlePLUS? TitlePLUS insurance is currently available through real estate lawyers in all provinces and territories.1 More than 4,200 lawyers participate in the TitlePLUS automated, on-line insurance system, but any lawyer in good standing can offer TitlePLUS coverage to his/her clients by phone, fax or e-mail. TitlePLUS coverage insures against unpredictable and undetectable issues that could affect the ownership or marketability of a property. It also protects against common problems such as work orders, access rights and conflicting interests in the property. TitlePLUS coverage also insures certain post-policy date events, such as fraud against the home owner or lender, encroachments and selected construction liens. And, because the TitlePLUS policy will be tailored to the specific property, it could insure the home buyer for certain known problems such as an addition that is not shown on an existing survey, or a known encroachment. This additional coverage may alleviate the lender's concerns - and provides you and your client with greater peace of mind. For a list of TitlePLUS subscribing lawyers in Ontario, go to Locate a Lawyer or call 1-800-410-1013.
